Turriff Academy

Turriff Academy is a six year comprehensive secondary school serving a large, predominantly agricultural catchment area.  There are 9 associated primary schools, Auchterless, Crudie, Easterfield, Fintry, Fisherford, Fyvie, King Edward, Turriff Primary School and Monquhitter.

The Academy has a roll of 670 pupils and over 80 teaching and non-teaching staff.

Turriff Academy is a community which fosters Respect, Ambition and Achievement for all.  This is reflected in the curriculum which is based around the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence – to ensure pupils are successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.   In addition to this, a programme of extra curricular activities, trips and other events enhance pupils’ learning and develop a range of skills for learning, life and work.

Teacher of Mathematics

Teacher of Technical Education

At Turriff Academy we recognise that in order to recruit and retain high quality Teachers it is necessary to have a competitive relocation and resettlement scheme.  The purpose of the scheme is to compensate employees for reasonable expenses directly incurred as a result of a change in primary residence.  The change must be wholly or mainly to bring their residence within a reasonable daily travelling distance.  Under the terms of this procedure relocation expenses of up to £8,000 (including VAT) will be reimbursed.

Why Turriff?

Turriff is a smaller town at the heart of rural Aberdeenshire.  There is a good range of local shops in the town centre with a few supermarkets, which should mean you always find what you are looking for.  There are plenty of coffee shops for a ‘fine piece and a fly cup’ and a few restaurants if you are looking for a treat.

When the days are bright you have Delgatie Castle on the doorstep and Fyvie Castle close by, with many more historic buildings in easy travelling distance.  It is also a great location for activities such as fishing, cycling and walking – so there is plenty opportunity to get out and about.  When the days are a little less inviting for outdoor pursuits – there is a local swimming pool and a leisure centre.

An hour drive will take you to the vibrant city centre of Aberdeen with cinemas, theatres, music venues and so much more.
