Just 40 miles from the city of Aberdeen, Fraserburgh is proud of its thriving fishing industry and bustling harbour. Surrounded by the stunning North-East coastline, the local area is home to Kinnaird Head Lighthouse; the very first lighthouse on mainland Scotland (1787), battered by storms, ravaged by waves, built by Mr Stevenson! Fraserburgh has a long, golden, sandy beach starting at the south-eastern end of the town and stretching along the Aberdeenshire coastline to the point where the Moray Firth meets the North Sea. The beach’s proximity to all the facilities and fine golden sand makes it a popular spot for families and there is usually plenty of room for everyone. It is also home to Fraserburgh Golf Club, established in April 1777, it’s the 7th oldest Golf Club in the world, 5th in Scotland and believed to be the oldest in the World operating under its original name. Fraserburgh has an array of shops, both local and national chain stores, to cater to the needs of all. With new leisure facilities and some of the most picturesque beaches in the world, Fraserburgh has a lot to offer. Whether you choose to live in the lively town or the peaceful countryside, we believe you could find your next home in Aberdeenshire!
Over the last number of years, School attainment has increased steadily at all levels, with significant increases in National Qualifications as well as CfE levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
We also have had significant success with our leaver destinations, continuously above Comparator, Local Authority and National levels but we need Teachers to join our team to help us continue on our improvement quest.
As well as meeting educational outcomes the school and it’s staff have been heavily involved in wider achievement initiatives including:
Rock Challenge UK is a series of performing arts events which promotes healthy life choices.
Young Enterprise Scotland – Empower young people through an educational system that has a CAN DO spirit with entrepreneurship and innovation at its core, allowing them to fulfil their potential, make the most of opportunities and be motivated to be the best they can be.
World Challenge facilitates Educational School Expeditions.
ROV Challenge MATE’s international student underwater robotics (remotely operated vehicle or ROV) competition consists of an international event and a network of 28 (and growing!) regional contests that take place across the United States and in Canada, Hong Kong, Scotland, Egypt, Russia, Turkey, and Bermuda.
Young Engineers Scotland’s leading source of inspiration, excitement and resources for young scientists and engineers
