Health & Social Care Partnership Job Swap Scheme

The Job Swap scheme has been developed as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis. The cost-of-living crisis is impacting households and families across the country. The aim of the Job Swap Scheme is to save on fuel costs for those employees who travel to their place of employment.

What does the scheme involve?

The Job Swap Scheme is where two employees from two different establishments (Care Homes and Very Sheltered Housing), who can step into one another’s roles, can exchange their place of work to save on fuel costs.

Any permanent employee who has been in their post for at least 12 months can apply. A match would require both employees to have the same job title and job grade and hours. This scheme does not apply to Assistant Managers or Managers.

The Job Swap Scheme is for a change of base only, the reason for the swap must be in connection with reducing your normal communing journey. If a swap is successful, it will be on a permanent basis. Both managers must agree before a swap will take place.

You are not eligible to apply if you are hitting attendance triggers, on attendance monitoring, have a live disciplinary warning or are going through work performance.

How do I Apply?

If you are an employee interested in applying for the Job Swap Scheme, first discuss the idea with your manager to get their approval. If your manager approves your request complete the below form. Once the form has been submitted your details will be held on a database and if a match is identified you will be contacted to discuss further. If you wished to proceed you would be invited to an informal interview with the prospective manager.

What if a suitable Job Swap is not identified for me?

If you are unsuccessful in being matched with an establishment closer to your home, this will not have an impact on you applying for any jobs that may come up in establishments closer to where you live.
