Anna Ritchie School
Are you ready for something special?
Anna Ritchie is a Community Resource Hub and Special School providing education for children and young people aged 3-18 in the Peterhead and Mintlaw clusters. Opened in 1962 Anna Ritchie School has a superb history of providing a wide range of high quality educational and life skills based experiences. We are the only school in Aberdeenshire with full accreditation from the National Autistic Society. Learning experiences are based on a Curriculum for Excellence with senior pupils working towards SQA qualifications.
With the inclusion agenda continuing to dominate discussion in many schools could your career benefit from more experience with children and young people with Additional Support Needs?
There is a wealth of experience in our existing staff who will support and mentor new staff members. Approaches to education are flexible and innovative with ‘Getting It Right For Every Child’ at the heart of all we do. Class sizes are capped at 10 pupils and a fantastic team of Pupil Support Assistants and Early Years Practitioners ensure that pupil needs are met effectively.
Working at Anna Ritchie will allow you to develop skills so that you can effectively support youngsters in any setting.
Think this might be the opportunity you are looking for? Come for an informal visit and see if this is the career move for you. Please contact Head Teacher, Sharon Ferguson (sharon.ferguson@aberdeenshire.gov.uk) to arrange.
