Resourcing Team

Responsible for the recruitment and selection procedure for the Council. Leads on pre employment checks.

Resourcing

Working with services to identify and address succession planning, recruitment and retention difficulties through workforce planning and specific programmes of activity. Delivery of assessment centres and training to enable Managers to make informed recruitment decisions. Management of the external workforce, ensuring appropriate measures and monitoring are in place for volunteers, agency staff and consultants and appropriate legislation applied.

Safeguarding & Eligibility

Review and implement Government legislation to ensure our staff employed are eligible to work in the UK and deemed suitable to work to children or protected adults. This includes Disclosure Scotland checks, overseas criminal record checks, undertaking visa sponsorship applications and general advice and guidance on these matters.

Recruitment Campaign Management

Devising and delivering recruitment campaigns for a wide variety of occupational areas across Aberdeenshire Council particularly for ‘hard to fill’ and senior positions. Promotion of Aberdeenshire Council as an employer of choice in the region. General advice and guidance, assisting managers promote their vacancies in a manner to attract top quality applicants in a cost effective manner. Development of social media advertising channels

Young Workforce

Work with Services to develop apprenticeship opportunities. Includes identification of suitable training programmes, promotion and recruitment of apprentices and linking with partners to identify external funding streams. Acting as the face of Aberdeenshire Council and engaging with young people and parents across Aberdeenshire through attendance at job fayres and school career fayres.
