The Children’s Wellbeing Team play an integral role in realising this vision by providing focussed support on mental health and wellbeing, with specific consideration given to our most vulnerable children and young people.
By providing the right support, in the right place, at the right time – we help ensure our children and young people receive education within their own communities and remain with their families.
The work undertaken by the CMW Team is underpinned by the Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) Mental Health and Well Being strategy, created by the multi-agency Aberdeenshire Mental Health Improvement Group.

Children’s Mental Wellbeing Practitioner (3 positions available)
The main purpose of your role will be to engage with children and young people who require support in relation to their mental wellbeing. Working within the GIRFEC Framework and through collaboration with the individual, their family and other key professionals you will formulate a tailored support plan. You will implement this with an adaptive approach according to the changing needs and behaviours of the child or young person at its core.
You will raise awareness of issues that affect the mental wellbeing of children and young people by delivering training to multi-agency professionals. This will enhance their skills in meeting the mental wellbeing needs of children and their families and also build capacity within localities and schools.
We are looking for resilient and innovative individuals who hold a positive approach to change. With a BA in social work, education or related discipline – you will also have practical experience of delivering mental health services to children, young people or families in a range of settings.

Team Manager (Children’s Wellbeing Team)
Leading our innovative team of practitioners you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and professional supervision of individual members. You will provide ongoing advice and guidance to your team, ensuring they are fully supported as required, and promote joint working within Education & Children’s Services and our working partners.
In addition to this, you will continually evaluate and review services provided, whilst contributing to the development of appropriate strategies and policies for the team and the wider service.
The successful candidate will hold a professional Social Work qualification or equivalent and have substantial post qualification experience in a child care or related setting. With experience of multi-agency working, you will be a reflective practitioner who embraces change with the ability to foster effective professional contacts and relationships.
