Learning and Development

L&D team support and facilitate the growth of skills, knowledge and experience needed by employees to deliver the Council plan.

Main Functions

Leadership and Management training / education focused on bringing in new management ideas, techniques, approaches and supporting line managers with their day to day team challenges.

Management, administration and support of the ALDO learning management system to provide 24/7 access to technical and professional training and encourage all services to develop their own programmes of learning for their staff.

Management of the Assessment Centre to provide nationally recognised qualifications and assessor/ internal verifier support to ensure compliance with professional registration in Health and Social Care. Delivering SVQ qualifications, at a variety of levels ranging from Highway Maintenance – Horticulture etc.

Organising, managing and facilitating large scale management events as well as smaller scale more bespoke team events as requested by services.
