Apprenticeships

Why choose an Apprenticeship with Aberdeenshire Council?

Apprenticeships incorporate a work based qualification (SCQF 6 or 7/SVQ level 2 or 3) earned while gaining valuable work experience in your chosen career path. While it’s great if you have some experience in the chosen area it is by no means essential as full training is provided from experienced colleagues during on the job training.  We particularly encourage Applications from 16-19 year olds.

Our Modern Apprentice, Shantelle, has launched The Apprentice Blog to give young people an insight as to what it is like to work for Aberdeenshire Council (which has replaced The Young Workforce Newsletter). She says;

“I love working for Aberdeenshire Council and I think having a job that you enjoy is very important. My aim for the blog is to share the stories from other apprentices and young people throughout the organisation who feel as passionate about their job as I do. Hope you like it!”

The blog will include a variety of things, such as current job vacancies, insights to the wide range of apprenticeships Aberdeenshire Council offer as well as exclusive interviews with past and present apprentices.
