Jobs at Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire Responders for Care at Home (ARCH)
ARCH responder service is one of the four pillars under the home care service.
What is ARCH: Aberdeenshire Responder for Care at Home service which is an on call 24 hour service that supports unplanned & planned urgent care needs for residents within the community.
The ARCH Teams are based across Aberdeenshire and work evenings, waking night shifts and day shifts to ensure those with urgent and emergency unplanned care needs living in the community can be responded to and, where possible, avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital.
On a given shift, the Home Care Responder could go out to support an uninjured faller, call in to ensure that a resident is safe and well following no voice contact after triggering their community alarm. Attend a Sheltered Housing complex when the Fire Alarms have been activated and provide support for end of life care.
In addition to responding to urgent, unplanned need, the Home Care Responders can also provide a planned short term intervention service to avoid Hospital admission and step in to avoid Delayed Discharge for those returning home from Hospital. Rota cover may also be required to support mainstream Home Care where there is no other available alternatives and the service has been agreed in advance.
ARCH Responders have flexible work bases within Hospitals, Care Homes and Very Sheltered Housing Complexes in their local area. Bases are not fixed and Home Care Responders are expected to work flexibly within these bases, depending on where the need is.
